The 2/3 mile-long Ravensdale History Trail, with its 15 interpretive signs conveying Ravensdale history, was dedicated in a public ceremony on November 16, 2015 – the 100 year anniversary of the tragic Ravensdale Mine explosion.  The ceremony, emceed by King County Councilman Reagan Dunn, also commemorated the thirty-one miners who were killed on that day 100 years ago, and their families.  A number of descendants of these 31 miners were among the audience of nearly 200 people attending the ceremony.

RAVENSDALE HISTORY INTERPRETIVE SIGNS PROJECT

The History Trail and interpretive signs were funded by grants from King County Participation Grants and 4-Culture, donations from the Ravensdale Park Foundation and local individuals and businesses, and many hundreds of hours of work by local volunteers and King County Parks staff.
