This is the current grassy area in center of the park which is the primary home of all the recreational programs for younger kids. We are looking at options to improve the safety and quality of the grass. One of those options is to punch, sand, and over seed the grass. We are also considering the addition of limited irrigation with surplus developed after upgrading the soccer field.
The next major project for the park is to install two new multipurpose fields. We are currently constructing to ball fields with a ground breaking set for late October '14.There is much to do in regard to funding as this phase has been estimated to cost around $6 million. In 2015, the Ravensdale Parks Foundation and King County Parks crew built the Ravensdale History walking trail around the Meadow, installed the history interpretive signs, graveled the Meadow parking lot, replaced the ecology block barrier with a cedar rail fence, and installed a kiosk, dog bag dispenser, and garbage cans. 2016 should see the completion of two picnic shelters along the Meadow, a widening of the walking trail, and improvements to the Meadow grass.
